Of Sudoku & Systematic Theology

Well, if it was good enough for Al Mohler, I figured I could try it out too.

“It” being sudoku, that is.

After a few puzzles, I’ve figured out there is some common ground between sudoku and systematic theology:

  • A child can learn the basics, but some of the problems can be inscrutable to the wisest.
  • One mistake will throw off everything, even though it may not be apparent at first.
  • Stretches your brain and challenges your intellect.
  • A few fundamental rules help everything to fall into place.
  • The further along you go, the easier it becomes to “connect the dots.”
  • The inter-relationships can be both simple and complex.
  • Sometimes, you just need to put it down, get outside, and do something else (like listen to Charlie Peacock’s song Lady Soul)
  • If you’re not mindful, you can spending more time on it than worshipping and serving Christ.
